Lesson Task – Create a Personal Logo

Logo design is all about creating the perfect visual brand mark for a company to communicate who they are and what is important to them. A logo can consist of a symbol or brand mark and/or a logotype, often with a tag line.

Take the moodboard you created in the last lesson task and now create your personal brand logo.

When it comes to determining your personal brand, no one knows better than yourself whether you’re traditional, trendy or tough.

Create a unique typeface accompanied by an icon or symbol that showcases you – or an aspect of you – as a brand. You are free to choose whether you want to add a tag line or not.

This was so much fun! From the Moodboard I made in the last lesson task, I were to create my own personal brand logo. This is the Moodboard I made last week:

I started the process with som sketching:

I was not sure what to implement as a symbol or how how I wanted the typography yet. The next thing I did was to pick out the colors from the moodboard to use in the logo:

I tried some drew some drafts in illustrator:

I wanted to use the Monogram effect with a Combination mark. First I drew a feather, but from the moodboard I had the paint and the painting brush, which tells more about me and also suits more with a designer brand.

I also liked the wave effect the letters have, which also tells more about me from the moodboard.

This is the finished logo:
