- Continuous light – Lights that continuously shine, like lights in your house. Its function is to control the light in the pictures. Studio flash light – Lights that flash on and off when a picture is taken. Its used when there is a lack of light. Natural light – Lights that are mostly produced by the sun. You can make different pictures based on the quality of the light and the direction.
- Umbrellas – Is used to soften the light and spread it over a large area. Reflectors – Is used to direct the light towards the subject.
- This is the three-point lightning set up:

This technique is used to control the shadows of the subject by using three light sources. The key light is the main light, the fill light is used to «fill» darker shadows and soften their intensity and the back light is to create a «rim» around the subject and highlighting the hair and shoulders.

I think this picture is taken with one key light and a fill light from the left (maybe with softbox), since you can see the shadows on the right, there is som side light there.
Beauty shot:

Here i think there is a key light and a fill light on each side of the subject, creating a rim light. There is also some reflectors here I think.
Portrait shot:

I think this has a key light and a back light, maybe with softbox since there is a softer light.

Take some portrait shots and pay specific attention to the lighting you use. Do one shot with soft lighting and one with more dramatic, harder lighting. It would be beneficial to hire studio lighting, but if you can’t, you may use natural light, reflectors and your camera’s flash.
