Let’s say that your budget is NOK 10 000 (or 1800 $ US). Please do the following:
1.Do some research on what advertising costs. You could for instance contact your local newspaper, print shop and other websites.
2.Make a detailed list of how you would market your website. Remember to keep your budget in mind.
3.What if you had double the budget? Come up with a second marketing strategy, this time with NOK 20 000 at your disposal. (3600 $ US)
4.Come up with a viral idea. It doesn’t have to be a video; it can be guys dancing at the airport in gorilla suits. You can use ANYTHING that is at your disposal. Be creative!
- Advertisement in newspaper are expensive and cost around 15.000 NOK. Social media ads is the best for this budget, it is way more cheaper.
- I would focus on Google, since it is cost effective and if you are visible on Google people will find you there. I would also use Google ads, because there i would be found by people who are searching for exactly what I am promoting on the website. I could also make a facebook page and an instagram account for the website, this is free and if people like and follow my page on facebook, it would appear for free in their newsfeed without paying for it! Since the website also is for the locals, I would talk to people I know and visit local businesses to ask if I could promote my website there with posters.
- If I had doubled the budget, I would expand my original plan and pay for ads on social media platforms (facebook, instagram, snapchat). Maybe make a video ad and use money in the budget on posters, flyers and businesscards to promote in the city.
- I think I would use a local celebrity to make a TikTok video or a funny reel on instagram, I could use Eyvind Hellstrøm since he is from Moss and it would hit the audience in the age group I am promoting for.
