Q1:

The procedure of planning a photoshoot:

  1. I would find the concept for the photoshoot. This will establish all choices when it comes to styling, location etc.
  2. Next I would create a moodboard, to get the visual idea of the concept.
  3. Create a storyboard which you can share with the team, so that everyone can see the plan for the shoot.
  4. Find a location.
  5. Make a shot list, so that I can organize the shoot day and keep track of important details.
  6. Find the correct model for the shoot.
  7. Find a stylist and hair-and makeup stylist.
  8. Lastly I would prepare for the shoot, give everyone the information they need and have the time schedule ready.

The stylist’s duties:

  • To be in charge of the costumes and props.
  • Be apart of the process from start.
  • Be sure that all the costumes arrive at the shoot on time and that everything fits.

The photographer’s duties:

  • Plan the photoshoot beforehand.
  • Book every participants, location and have equipment ready.
  • Schedule the whole day, keep everyone informed and prepare everything beforehand so that every one can keep their cool and not stress.
  • During the photoshoot arrange all the elements.
  • Give directions to the model.
  • Make sure that everyone follow the schedule

Equipment I would take along on the Alice in Wonderland shoot:

  • Wide angle, macro and 50 mm lenses
  • Camera body
  • Memory cards
  • Battery chargers
  • Light set
  • Diffuse boxes

Editorial fashion spread in Elle for Dior:

I chose this fashion spread from Elle, I think the concept for the fashion shoot was school girls who are tough and cool. They can have their school uniforms, but still have their identity. Here they have used mostly natural light and diffused the lightning. The location seems to be in a parking garage, it fits the concept with the roughness and grey tones giving it the «dark» gothic look. The first thing I think of is that you can make a boring school uniform and a simple garage cool by being cool and dress cool.

Q2:

My plan for a Snow White themed fashion shoot:

  • Moodboards:

First I made a moodboard for the theme, second is location and wardrobe and third is hair-and makeup.

  • Storyboard:

  • Shotlist:
